Your gift directly supports students in speech, debate, and mock trial across Oregon. Donations help cover essential participation costs like tournament registration, national dues, travel and lodging, instructional materials, and — when needed — stipends for qualified coaches and judges. 

 We rely on both:

• One-time gifts cover urgent, time-sensitive expenses like fall registration dues and upcoming travel. Without them, students could miss out on competitions already scheduled.
   
• Monthly subscriptions create predictable, long-term support. They ensure that next year’s programs are sustainable and that we can plan with confidence.

If you’re able, consider making a larger one-time gift now to meet immediate needs, and pairing it with a monthly donation at a level you’re comfortable with to build future stability.

 The Oregon Forensics Foundation has applied for 501(c)(3) status with the IRS. Once approved, all donations will be deductible to the fullest extent of the law, retroactive to our date of incorporation. 

 Some costs are fixed and unavoidable — annual dues and national registration fees must be paid early in the season. Travel costs follow the competition calendar, beginning in the fall and running into spring. Sustained monthly support allows us to cover these ongoing costs, while one-time gifts right now ensure we can meet the deadlines immediately in front of us.

 Yes. All donors receive a confirmation email. We will also share periodic updates from the Foundation and from students, so you can see the direct impact of your support. Major donors and monthly subscribers will also receive personalized thank-yous from students whenever possible.
